Mahadeva Lal Schroff
Professor Mahadeva Lal Schroff (1902–1971) is known as the father of pharmacy education in India. He was born in Darbhanga, Bihar, on March 6, 1902. He completed his education in Bhagalpur, Bihar, and passed his intermediate test in 1920. He then enrolled in the Engineering College at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi, India. In 1932, Schroff established the first Department of Pharmaceutics in an Indian university. He also initiated the first pharmacy course in India at BHU. Schroff's contributions to the field of pharmacy earned him the title of the father of pharmacy education in India."
